Step-by-step description of the professional bathtub refinishing process
The processes of ceramic tile or countertop refinishing are very similar.
Step by step guide:
At first the bathtub must be cleaned and old caulking removed around it.
Then we etch the bathtub with etching gel for deep cleaning and glossy layer removal.
All chipped, scratched or worn areas must be filled and sanded smooth. Also it is very important to make sure there is no water dripping onto the tub from the downspout or shower head.
Then we mask around the bathtub and cover areas not to be refinished.
We spray two coats of primer over the bathtub. We use two parts heavy duty Ultra Primer designed especially for bathtub refinishing purposes.
Then we spray three coats of synthetic porcelain. It is very important which chemical is being used. The Integrity Coating High gloss acrylic polymer is very durable and looks and feels like natural porcelain.
After cleaning and caulking, we have turned the old and ugly bathtub into looking like a brand new one with a minimal cost to you!
